Falling into a new season

Falling into a new season . .. haha no pun intended (okay, it was a little intended ;)! I definitely feel like I fell into this season. Summer was for the most part relaxed . . . Yes, it was quite busy, but relatively stress free. Now that fall is here, my 12 hour days at school are filled with just about anything and everything! But . . . no complaints (oh wait, maybe I already did!) haha.

Anyhow, I decided I should probably get this post up as soon as possible since before we know it Winter will be here! (anyone as excited about the Christmas season as me?!)

This technique is a fantastic AND CHEAP (woo hoo!) way to add fun embellishments to your card, mini book, or just about any other paper project you can think of. I stumbled across it while I was making my paper bag mini album a couple of weeks ago (I promise to get up pics as soon as possible!)

All you need is a paper bag and some distress ink (I used Ranger antique linen (yellowish leaf) and peeled paint (green leaf) for mine). Crumple the paper until you have the texture you desire. Use your fingernails or bone folder to create deep creases (these will act as the leaves veins and will show up better the deeper the creases). Now, distress away :) Test out different colors- the red would look really pretty if you tore out a flower shape. Have fun and Happy Fall!
